Le collectif Foulles a été invité par l'espace libre à développer une nouvelle pièce de danse contemporaine pendant une résidence d'un mois.

Prayers Behind, sera une performance immersive s'articulant autour d'une série d'actions et d'échanges rituels.

Ce nouveau spectacle fait suite à leur pièce de danse pour la scène, A prayer before, dans laquelle les Foulles présentaient des scènes d'un tableau médiéval qui incarnait une vision imaginative et joyeusement absurde du Moyen Âge. Remettant en question les normes de genre, les quatre figures du collectif oscillent entre le grotesque et le sensuel, entre le passé et le présent, entre la toge et le "bowl-cut".

Dans Prayers Behind, le collectif souhaite prolonger l’exploration des thématiques déjà présentes dans A prayer before en créant une séries de rituels de 'prières' où la notion de temps et le rapport aux visiteur·ice·x·s sont remis en question. En rendant les différentes actions absurdes, inutiles ou encore fantaisistes, ces rituels deviennent des prières de résistance à l'efficacité de l'hégémonie de la raison, dont les visiteur·ice·x·s sont tantôt témoins, tantôt acteur·ice·x·s.

Pendant leur période en résidence, iels présenteront trois 'Public Showings' de leur performance en développement.

Le collectif

Foulles est né en 2018, de la rencontre entre quatre danseuses issues de la Manufacture - Lausanne : Délia, Colline, Hortense et Fabio.

Foulles est un ensemble qui regroupe le multiple. Allant de la musique pop au style médiéval en passant par les paillettes, les bâtons de feu, les objets géants, les canards en peluches, les histoires au futur antérieur, le collectif célèbre la joie du mélange des univers.

Collective Foulles has been invited by espace libre to create a new contemporary dance piece during a one-month residency. They propose to launch a research project, Prayers Behind, to develop an immersive performance that revolves around a series of ritual actions and exchanges.

Prayers Behind follows on from the stage piece A prayer before, in which the Foulles presented scenes from a vast medieval tableau, embodying a fantasised and joyfully absurd vision of the Middle Ages. Questioning gender norms, the four characters of the collective oscillated between the grotesque and the sensual, between past and present, between adidas toga and bowl cut.

In these prayers behind, the collective wishes to extend the exploration of the themes present in A prayer before by creating a series of ritualised 'prayers' where the notion of time and the relationship with the visitors are called into question. These absurd, useless or fanciful actions are imagined as prayers of resistance, to which the public are both witnesses and participants.

During their residency, they will present three 'Public Showings' of their performance in development.

The collective

Foulles was born in 2018, from the meeting of four dancers from the Manufacture - Lausanne: Delia, Colline, Hortense and Fabio.

Foulles is an ensemble that brings together the multiple. From pop music to medieval style, glitter, fire sticks, giant objects, stuffed ducks, stories in the future tense, the collective celebrates the joy of mixing worlds.

Das Kollektiv Foulles wurde von espace libre eingeladen, während eines einmonatigen Aufenthalts ein neues zeitgenössisches Tanzstück zu entwickeln.

Prayers Behind, wird eine immersive Performance sein, die sich um eine Reihe von rituellen Handlungen und Austauschvorgängen dreht.

Die neue Performance schließt sich an das Bühnenstück „A prayer before an“, in dem die Foulles Szenen aus einem mittelalterlichen Tableau präsentierten, das eine fantasievolle und fröhlich-absurde Vision des Mittelalters verkörperte. Indem sie Geschlechternormen in Frage stellten, oszillierten die vier Figuren des Kollektivs zwischen dem Grotesken und dem Sinnlichen, zwischen Vergangenheit und Gegenwart, zwischen Toga und „bowl cut“.

In "Prayers behind" möchte das Kollektiv die Erkundung der Themen von A prayer before fortsetzen und eine Reihe von ritualisierten "Gebeten" schaffen, in denen der Begriff der Zeit und die Beziehung zu den Besuchern in Frage gestellt werden. Diese absurden, nutzlosen oder phantasievollen Aktionen werden als Gebete des Widerstands vorgestellt, bei denen das Publikum sowohl Zeuge als auch Teilnehmer ist.

Während ihres einmonatigen Aufenthalts werden sie drei "öffentliche Vorführungen" präsentieren.

Das Kollektiv

Foulles entstand 2018 aus dem Zusammentreffen von vier Tänzerinnen und Tänzern der Manufacture - Lausanne: Delia, Colline, Hortense und Fabio.

Von Popmusik bis hin zu mittelalterlichen Stilen, Glitzer, Feuerstäben, riesigen Objekten, ausgestopften Enten, Geschichten in der Zukunft - das Kollektiv zelebriert die Freude am Vermischen von Welten. Foulles ist auf der Suche nach anderen Welten und nimmt dabei Albernheit sehr ernst.
