Les émotions sont le lieu où nous apprenons à connaître les contours de nous-mêmes, en tant que corps individuels et collectifs, en tant que sujets sensibles et ressentants. Dans la société contemporaine, la zone des émotions fait l'objet d'une surveillance et d'une négociation constantes. Elle est souvent considérée comme une faiblesse féminine, un signe d'instabilité personnelle et une menace pour la productivité. En tant que telle, nous sommes encouragés à maîtriser, réprimer ou même craindre les états émotionnels intenses.
TOUCHY FEELY FESTIVAL explore la politique des émotions dans la pratique artistique contemporaine. Une architecture d'exposition multisensorielle de Stéphanie Rosianu accueille un programme d'interventions de Saul Pandelakis, Simona Ferrar et Vana Kostayola, Andrea Marioni, Luca Depietri et Lumpenstation. L'installation et le programme d'événements vise à transformer espace libre en une zone émotionnelle de vulnérabilité, de tendresse, de scandale et d'euphorie.

"La Séquence Aardtman", lecture de Saul Pandelakis à 19h 30
Stéphanie Rosianu à imaginé une installation immersive et in-situ composée, entre autres, des pièces en biorésine réalisées en collaboration avec la designeuse Vanessa Schindler, qui travaille cette matière depuis plusieurs années. L'installation questionne notre rapport au domestique et accueille les différentes interventions qui auront lieu durant le festival. Le projet vise à perturber nos stéréotypes de la vie domestique en explorant des versions du foyer en désaccord avec sa représentation normative.
Le soir du vernissage à 19h30, l'auteur et chercheur Saul Pandelakis, invité par Rosianu fera une lecture de son roman de science fiction "La Séquence Aardtman": “Alors que la Terre devient progressivement inhabitable, les êtres humains restants doivent cohabiter avec des bots post-singularité.” Suite à la lecture, un exemplaire sera à découvrir dans notre espace livre.
“Mon travail est régulièrement traversé par la question de la matérialité du texte qui est comprise dans son étymologie même : texte, textile et texture ont la même racine latine du verbe « texo » qui signifie «tisser ». Ainsi, mes textes ont souvent pris la forme d’installation textile déployant des environnements visuels qui mettent en lumière l’usage que nous faisons des mots dans notre société” - Stéphanie Rosianu

Vana kostayola & Simona Ferrar “Daddy says”
"Daddy says" est un atelier performatif sur les mots du père, les vrais pères mais aussi les figures paternelles, et les substituts patriarcaux comme symboles d'autorité et de pouvoir. Nous improviserons et jouerons avec les mots, les expressions et les mouvements pour exhumer des confessions sur les mots et les idées de nos pères, passant librement du personnel au politique et vice-versa. Comment ces mots forgent-ils le présent? Qu’est-ce que le père meut en nous?

Les projets artistiques de Vana Kostayola engagent les professionnel.les et les amateurs.rices dans une performance participative entre un atelier d'autoréflexion et un acte théâtral immersif dans un décor aux détails surréalistes. Avec ses collaboratrix, elle explore l'espace conceptuel où la fiction et la réalité se confondent. Tentant de mettre le public à sa place active, elle propose des actes absurdes de prise de décision, d'auto-thérapie ou d'interactions de jeux de rôle. Elle collabore avec des artistes du théâtre et des arts visuels, interagissant en même temps avec différentes disciplines comme les médecinx, les historienx et les éducateurix, essayant de les mettre touxtes "sur scène" en mélangeant les contradictions de chacunx.
Simona Ferrar passe par la performance, la danse et l’écriture pour questionner le monde. Elle s’intéresse à comment nos corps reflètent les rouages de notre société, et à la qualité des échanges qu’ils entretiennent avec le reste du vivant. Elle mène depuis 2021 un projet de recherche artistique sur les seins des femmes* et des hommes, qui se déploie sous une diversité d’expressions : le Festival des seins en 2022, le podcast « Les seins des hommes » en 2023, et son seule-en-scène dans lequel elle raconte l’histoire de ses seins, actuellement en cours de création.

« En rentrant une nuit à la maison avec un ami curateur, je lui partage mes angoisses de ne pas recevoir d’invitations pour des expositions, pourtant je viens de faire trois expositions dans plusieurs villes Suisses. Mon ami écoute un moment et puis me dis: Tu sais c est pas ton travail le problème. Le truc tu vois; si le monde de l’art est une famille et les vernissages des réunions, on ne sait jamais qui t’as invité et pourquoi, à quelle branche t’appartient... »
Andrea Marioni raconte des anecdotes, souvent tragico-comiques de ses tentatives de rentrer dans un monde qui lui ferme régulièrement les portes et dont il continue à rentrer par la fenêtre, voir tout simplement de camper dans le jardin. En évitant le règlement de compte, ses textes racontent la partie émotive du refus par l’institution, démasquent des relations humaines basées sur l’arbitraire et l’absurdité comique des stratégies de carrière.
Si la recherche de solutions en essayant d’élargir le champs de l’art en dehors des sentiers battus et des lieux conventionnels est une possibilité, celle-ci provoque néanmoins de la marginalité et cet isolement affecte régulièrement la santé mentale. En résistance à l’état d’esprit du « ça marche comme ça » cette performance-diffusionradiophonique-lecture-installation donne la voix à tout ce qu’il faut pas dire pendant les réunions de famille.
Après une pause apéro, Luca Depietri anime un conférence autour de la pratique de Christopher Schlingensief, l'artiste provocateur allemand qui a brouillé la frontière entre l'art et la politique, suscitant l'indignation du public, des débats moraux et la controverse.

Je veuxplus de Schlingesiftude … plus de provoque, plus de malaise avec le médium et pus d’arrogance avec le propos… plus de rien à foutre de qui je suis … ça il faut que ce soit dit.. plus de: il n’y a rien que je puisse ajouter à la réalité qui la rende plus tragique de ce qu’elle est; plus de réellement spectaculaire plutôt que de spectaculairement réel… je veux que Netflix arrête de rendre des putain de moisissures spectaculaire et qu’elle commence à pointer à ce qui nous sépare de la nature… arrêtons de construire de ponts imaginaire entre nous et la nature et racontons l’histoire de notre envie de disparaître ! Emotionen sind der Ort, an dem wir die Konturen unserer selbst kennenlernen, als individuelle und kollektive Körper, als sensible und fühlende Subjekte. In der heutigen Gesellschaft werden unsere Emotionen ständig überprüft und verhandelt. Sie werden oft als (weibliche) Schwäche, als Zeichen persönlicher Instabilität und als Bedrohung der Produktivität angesehen. Daher werden wir dazu angehalten, intensive emotionale Zustände zu kontrollieren, zu unterdrücken oder sogar zu fürchten.
TOUCHY FEELY FESTIVAL erforscht die Politik der Gefühle in der zeitgenössischen Kunstpraxis. Eine multisensorische Ausstellungsarchitektur von Stephanie Rosianu und Vanessa Schindler beherbergt ein Programm mit Interventionen von Saul Pandelakis, Simona Ferrar und Vana Kostayola, Andrea Marioni, Luca Depietri und Lumpenstation. Die Installation und das Veranstaltungsprogramm zielen darauf ab, espace libre in eine emotionale Zone der Verletzlichkeit, Zärtlichkeit, des Skandals und der Euphorie zu verwandeln.

"La Séquence Aardtman", Lesung von Saul Pandelakis um 19.30 Uhr
Stéphanie Rosianu hat eine immersive In-situ-Installation geschaffen, die unter anderem aus Formen aus Bioharz besteht, die in Zusammenarbeit mit der Designerin Vanessa Schindler hergestellt wurden.
Die Installation hinterfragt unser Verhältnis zum Häuslichen und beherbergt verschiedene Interventionen, die während des Festivals stattfinden werden. Rosianus Arbeit zielt darauf ab, unsere Stereotypen des häuslichen Lebens aufzubrechen, indem sie Versionen des Zuhause erkundet, die im Widerspruch zu konventionellen Darstellungen stehen.
Am Eröffnungstag wird der Science-Fiction-Autor und Forscher Saul Pandélakis auf Einladung von Rosianu, aus seinem Roman "The Aardtman Sequence" lesen: "Als die Erde allmählich unbewohnbar wird, müssen die verbliebenen Menschen mit post-singularen Bots zusammenleben." Nach der Lesung wird ein Exemplar zur Konsultation im „espace livre“ bleiben.

Performativer Workshop, "Daddy says"

"Daddy says" ist ein performativer Workshop über die Worte des Vaters, reale Väter, aber auch Vaterfiguren und patriarchale Stellvertreter als Symbole von Autorität und Macht. Wir werden improvisieren und mit Ausdrücken und Bewegungen spielen, um Geständnisse über die Worte und Ideen unserer Väter auszugraben, wobei wir uns frei vom Persönlichen zum Politischen und wieder zurück bewegen. Wie formen uns diese Worte? Was bewegt der Vater in uns?

Vana Kostayola künstlerische Projekte verwickeln Fachleute und Interessierte in eine partizipative Performance zwischen einem Workshop zur Selbstreflexion und einem immersiven theatralischen Akt in einer Umgebung mit surrealistischen Details. Gemeinsam mit ihren Mitarbeitende erkundet sie den konzeptionellen Raum, in dem Fiktion und Realität verschmelzen. Indem sie versucht, das Publikum in ihre aktive Rolle zu versetzen, schlägt sie einige absurde Akte der Entscheidungsfindung, der Selbsttherapie oder der Interaktion in Rollenspielen vor. Sie arbeitet mit Theatermachern und bildenden Künstlern zusammen und interagiert gleichzeitig mit verschiedenen Disziplinen wie Ärzten, Historikern und Pädagogen, wobei sie versucht, sie alle "auf die Bühne" zu bringen und die Widersprüche aller zu vermischen.
Simona Ferrar nutzt Performance, Tanz und Schreiben, um die Welt zu hinterfragen. Sie interessiert sich dafür, wie unsere Körper die Funktionsweise unserer Gesellschaft widerspiegeln, und für die Qualität des Austauschs, den sie mit dem Rest der lebenden Welt haben. Seit 2021 führt sie ein künstlerisches Forschungsprojekt über die Brüste von Frauen* und Männern durch, das auf verschiedene Weise umgesetzt wird: das Festival der Brüste im Jahr 2022, der Podcast "Men's Breasts" im Jahr 2023 und ihre Ein-Frau-Show, in der sie die Geschichte ihrer Brüste erzählt und die sich gerade in der Entstehung befindet.

Der Abend ist in Zusammenarbeit mit Lumpenstation präsentiert
"Eines Abends gehe ich mit einem befreundeten Kurator nach Hause und erzähle ihm von meinen Ängsten, keine Einladungen zu Ausstellungen zu erhalten, obwohl ich gerade drei Ausstellungen in verschiedenen Schweizer Städten hatte. Mein Freund hört mir eine Weile zu und sagt dann: "Weißt du, das Problem ist nicht deine Arbeit. Die Sache ist die: Wenn die Kunstwelt eine Familie ist und Eröffnungen Wiedersehen sind, weiß man nie, wer dich eingeladen hat und warum, zu welchem Zweig du gehörst... ".
Andrea Marioni erzählt in oft tragisch-komischen Anekdoten von seinen Versuchen, in eine Welt einzutreten, die ihm regelmäßig die Türen verschließt und deren Fenster er immer wieder betritt, oder auch nur im Garten zu campieren. Unter Vermeidung von Abrechnungen erzählen seine Texte die emotionale Seite der Ablehnung durch die Institution, entlarven menschliche Beziehungen, die auf Willkür beruhen, und die komische Absurdität von Karrierestrategien.
Wenn die Suche nach Lösungen durch den Versuch, das Feld der Kunst jenseits der ausgetretenen Pfade und konventionellen Orte zu erweitern, eine Möglichkeit ist, so provoziert sie doch Marginalität, und diese Isolation wirkt sich regelmäßig auf die psychische Gesundheit aus. Im Widerstand gegen die "So geht's"-Mentalität gibt diese Performance-Radio-Broadcast-Leseinstallation all dem eine Stimme, was bei Familientreffen nicht gesagt werden darf.
Nach einer Aperitif Pause spricht Luca Depietri über die Praxis von Christopher Schlingensief, dem provokanten deutschen Künstler, dessen Werk die Grenze zwischen Kunst und Politik verwischt und öffentliche Empörung, moralische Debatten und Kontroversen ausgelöst hat.

Emotions are the place where we get to know the contours of ourselves, as individual and collective bodies, as sensitive and feeling subjects. In contemporary society, our emotions are under constant scrutiny and negotiation. They are often seen as a (female) weakness, a sign of personal instability and a threat to productivity. As such, we are encouraged to control, suppress or even fear intense emotional states.
TOUCHY FEELY FESTIVAL explores the politics of emotions in contemporary art practice. A multi-sensory exhibition architecture by Stephanie Rosianu and Vanessa Schindler hosts a programme of interventions by Saul Pandelakis, Simona Ferrar and Vana Kostayola, Andrea Marioni, Luca Depietri and Lumpenstation. The installation and programme of events aims to transform espace libre into an emotional zone of vulnerability, tenderness, scandal and euphoria.

"The Aardtman Sequence", reading by Saul Pandelakis at 7.30 pm
Stéphanie Rosianu has imagined an immersive and in-situ installation composed, among other things, of bioresin pieces created in collaboration with the designer Vanessa Schindler, who has been working with this material for several years. The installation questions our relationship to the domestic and hosts the various interventions that will take place during the festival. The project aims to disrupt our stereotypes of domestic life by exploring versions of the home that are at odds with its normative representation.
At 7.30pm, author and researcher Saul Pandelakis, invited by Rosianu, will give a reading from his science fiction novel "The Aardtman Sequence": "As the Earth gradually becomes uninhabitable, the remaining human beings must cohabit with post-singularity bots." Following the reading, a copy will be available in our espace library.

Performative workshop, "Daddy says"

"Daddy says" is a performative workshop about words of the father, real fathers but also father figures, and patriarchal substitutes as symbols of authority and power. We will improvise and play with words, expressions and movements to unearth confessions about the words and ideas of our fathers, moving freely from the personal to the political and back again. How do these words shape us? What does the father move in us?

Vana Kostayola's artistic projects engage professionals and enthusiasts to a participative performance in-between a workshop of self-reflexion and an immersive theatrical act in a setting with surrealist details. Together with her collaborators she explores the conceptual space where fiction and reality merge. Attempting to put the audience in its active place, she proposes some absurd acts of decisions making, of self-therapy or role playing interactions.
She collaborates with theatre and visual arts workers, interacting at the same time with different disciplines like doctors, historians and educator, attempting to put them all “on stage” mixing everyone’s contradictions.
Simona Ferrar uses performance, dance and writing to question the world. She is interested in how our bodies reflect the workings of our society, and in the quality of the exchanges they have with the rest of the living world. Since 2021, she has been conducting an artistic research project on women's* and men's breasts, which is being deployed in a variety of ways: the Festival of Breasts in 2022, the podcast "Men's Breasts" in 2023, and her one-woman show in which she tells the story of her breasts, currently in the process of being created.

"One night I go home with a curator friend and share with him my anxieties about not receiving invitations to exhibitions, yet I have just had three exhibitions in several Swiss cities. My friend listens for a while and then says: "You know, the problem is not your work. The thing is, you see, if the art world is a family and openings are reunions, we never know who invited you and why, to which branch you belong... ".
Andrea Marioni recounts anecdotes, often tragic-comic, of his attempts to enter a world that regularly closes its doors to him and whose windows he continues to enter, or even simply to camp out in the garden. Avoiding the settling of scores, his texts tell the emotional part of the refusal by the institution, unmask human relations based on arbitrariness and the comic absurdity of career strategies.
If the search for solutions by trying to expand the field of art outside the beaten track and conventional venues is a possibility, it nevertheless provokes marginality and this isolation regularly affects mental health. In resistance to the 'it works like that' mindset, this performance-radio-broadcast-reading-installation gives voice to all that is not to be said at family gatherings.
After an apéro break, Luca Depietri shares his thoughts on the practice of Christopher Schlingensief, the provocative German artist whose work blurred the line between art and politics, provoking public outrage, moral debate and controversy.

I want more Schlingesiftude ... more provocation, more discomfort with the medium and more arrogance with the subject matter ... more not giving a shit who I am ... that needs to be said. no more: there's nothing I can add to reality that makes it more tragic than it is; no more truly spectacular rather than spectacularly real... I want Netflix to stop making fucking mould spectacular and start pointing at what separates us from nature... let's stop building imaginary bridges between us and nature and tell the story of our desire to disappear!
