espace libre ist ein von Künstler*innen geführter Off-space hinter dem Kunsthaus Pasquart in Biel/Bienne. Das Jahr 2021 markiert das einundzwanzigjährige Bestehen dieses interdisziplinären Kunstraums. All drei Jahre wählt Visarte Biel/Bienne eine*n neue*n Kurator*in oder ein neues Kurator*innenteam. Die Künstlerinnen Vera Trachsel und Beth Dillon sind die aktuellen Kuratorinnen/Leiterinnen von espace libre (2021-2023).
espace libre ist:
eine Plattform für Künstlerinnen und Künstler, die der Öffentlichkeit neue und experimentelle Formen der zeitgenössischen Kunst präsentieren.
ein "gemeinsamer kultureller Gut", das durch die Besetzung und Belebung durch Künstler*innnen, Publikum und Kuratoren aktiviert wird.
ein lebendiges Gefüge aus vergangenen Aktionen, gegenwärtigen Bedingungen und zukünftigen Möglichkeiten.
ein Organismus, das gepflegt wird, mit dem man zusammenarbeitet, zusammenlebt und teilt.

Tous les trois ans, Visarte Biel/Bienne sélectionne un nouveau curateur.rice ou une nouvelle équipe de curateurs.rices. espace libre is an artist-run space located behind the Kunsthaus Pasquart in Biel/Bienne. The year 2021 marks the twenty-first anniversary of this interdisciplinary off-space. Every three years Visarte Biel/Bienne selects a new curator or curatorial team to manage the space and direct its annual program. Emerging artists Vera Trachsel and Beth Dillon are the current curators/directors of espace libre (2021-2023).
